Earlier this year we were invited to apply for a further grant from the National Heritage Lottery Fund to finance the development phase of the Newton Project. The project was considered favourably by NHLF at a meeting in March, but before awarding a grant, they have asked for more work to be done on the application, in particular to develop further the plans for the interpretation of this important heritage site. The application should then be resubmitted later in the year. One of their experts has been appointed to support and advise us.
